Dr. Rubenstein joined OCA in 1996. He is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Oklahoma. He has over 25 years of research, teaching, and patient care in the area of lipids and atherosclerotic disease. He also has a long standing interest in preventive cardiology, cardiac rehabilitation, exercise physiology, the combined problems of lipid disorders, diabetes, hypertension, and non-invasive cardiology.
Dr. Rubenstein was the Chairman of the Cardiovascular Committee of Lipid Research Centers Programs of the NIH from 1973-1983. He has multiple publications and lectures on lipid disorders and heart disease. He was a full time faculty member at the University of Oklahoma Department of Medicine from 1972-1982. He was an Associate Member of the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation from 1972-1983. From 1993-1995, he was the Vice-Chairman of the Department of Medicine at the Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and from 1995-1998 he served as the Chairman. He was the Founder and Medical Director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at the Presbyterian Hospital from 1979-2001, and Medical Director of the Cardiac Rehab Program for Mercy Hospital and Oklahoma Heart Hospital from 2001-Present. |

In his spare time, Dr. Rubenstein enjoys cross-country and downhill skiing, wood carving, and the Native American Indian flute. He is also actively involved with the Temple B'Nai Israel, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. |
